I have had the great pleasure to have been invited to speak at the Mobile Monday Beijing, with a special envoy of Australian Mobile Experts from Victoria area. I was planning to go to Australia, so it was very fortuitous to explain to them the MobileMags service, and then when I travelled to Australia, I attended a Melbourne Mobile Monday, and was invited to speak at the Mobile Monday Sydney, which is the most stylist Mobile Monday to date I have to say.
What was interesting was the use of the MobileMags to create a flyer for Mobile Monday to promote the event. The speed of adoption was impressive:
I sms’d 10 people on sunday the MM, in 3 minutes 30 downloads, in 5 minutes 60 downloads, by the end of the day 110 downloads, by the morning with the link sent in the newsletter by email 350 downloads, after my speech at the end of the day 600 downloads. We created geo-location links to the location, sms rsvp, sms click to call, connections to the speakers and organizers linkedin accounts. I was so impressed i sent it to the CEO of Mobile Mondays.

Presentation: Mobile Magazines
Paper is becoming obsolete, and publishers are rushing to push
their publications online–yet they are not making any money! Mobile
shows possible revenues to be made yet there are few platforms out
there which cover a wide array of devices. Most applications only
address the 4% data connection market but rule out the prepaid mobile
and non-flat-rate customers. The iPhone is leading the way, yet iTunes
is a time consuming hurdle for publishers to submit their applications
for approval–no one knows what is in the mind of Apple these days,
applications are rejected for the strangest reasons. What is the right
strategy for a publisher to take, and how to address the whole market
instead of only a high end phones?
