Champion of the Month: Chintan Dave

Nokia Developer Chintan Dave is February’s Champion of the month and an active participant on the community’s discussion boards, blogs, and wikis. His recent contributions to the Nokia Developer discussion boards – where he is known as chintandave_er include posts on HTML-to-PDF conversions and Series Java 40 winners. Chintan also writes a Nokia Developer blog. And he is a moderator and frequent contributor to the Nokia Developer wiki.

Chintan is based in Mumbai, India, where works as a software engineer for SFW Ltd., a U.K.-based software-development and consulting company. In his job, Chintan has developed mobile apps for platforms including Windows Phone and Symbian, and mobile web apps. App development is also one of Chintan’s hobbies, and he has published several apps on both Nokia Store and the Windows Phone Marketplace, including Know Your Rashi, World’s Greatest Speeches, and India News TweetTalk. He is also among the winners of the recent Windows Phone 8 wiki contest.

Champion of the Month: Josue Yeray Julian Ferreiro loves Windows Phone

Nokia Developer Champion Josue Yeray Julian Ferreiro is January’s Champion of the Month and a self-proclaimed ‘passionate’ advocate of the Windows Phone platform. Based in Bilbao, Spain, and a Nokia Champion for less than a year, Josue has worked with Microsoft mobile technologies for the last six years. He collaborates frequently with other members of the Windows Phone community, both online in forums and in person at live events. He is the author of a book (in Spanish) on developing for Windows Phone 7.5, with a second book — this one dealing with Windows Phone 8 — on the way. Josue speaks frequently on Windows Phone, including a monthly podcast; writes articles about Windows Phone for magazines and his blog; and contributes regularly to the Nokia Developer discussion boards and community blog. Champion of the Month: João Cardoso, a developer with something to say

Nokia Developer Champion João Cardoso is December’s Champion of the Month and an active participant on the Nokia Developer discussion boards and wiki. Based in Lisbon, Portugal, João was in 1998 a co-founder of AciNet, a developer of human-relations and education solutions, and he is still a manager there. While João became a Nokia Developer Champion only this year, he has already made more than 270 posts on the Nokia Developer discussion board, and he was recently named moderator of the Windows Phone discussion board. In addition, his Nokia Developer Wiki articles span a wide range of topics, including face recognition, storage settings, draggable markers in Windows Phone, and in-app purchasing. Congratulations, João!

Champion of the Month: Randall Arnold contributes to the community

Nokia Developer Champion Randall Arnold is a Nokia Ambassador and co-organizer of the Windows Phone App Developer Group in Dallas, Texas. Randy, as he is known to his friends, is also an experienced product innovator and former Nokia quality engineer who has contributed more than 400 posts to the Nokia Developer community since joining in 2006. Under his user name Texrat, Randy has provided expert commentary on both the Nokia Developer discussion boards and his Nokia Developer blog. From his base in Keller, Texas, Randy also edits http://post404.com, an online community magazine that covers technology in everyday language. Randy is a frequent speaker, as well, at industry events that include South by Southwest, the Devaamo Summit, and the BeMyApp Hackathon. Congratulations to Randy!

Champion of the Month: Walter Wong

Walter Wong, our Nokia Developer Champion for October, is one of the coordinating forces behind the Software Developer Reality Show. In this one-day tournament, to be held in Malaysia on 13 October, developers will compete on six challenges covering Windows Phone. One of the challenges promotes the Nokia Places API, which is required to complete the task.

By day, Walter works as the technical lead for Gain Secure, a software developer based in Malaysia. He is also a frequent speaker at Asian technology events. Walter joined the Nokia Developer community this past March, where you can find him online as WalterW.

Walter’s recent contribution to the community discussion boards explains how to upload photo images to Facebook in just five steps. He also runs a blog, Walter’s Technology & Travel Space.
