Nokia Developer Champion of the month, April 2012 !

biskero | 03 April, 2012 15:49

I have been selected Nokia Developer Champion of the month for April 2012!

Pretty cool, thanks to the Nokia Developer Champion program.

“Nokia Developer Champion Alessandro Pace (biskero to his friends) is a mobile architect and entrepreneur with over 5 million downloads in Nokia Store to his company’s credit. Working out of his home base of Firenze, Italy, he is a world-renowned expert on Flash Mobile development, a WURFL contributor for Flash Lite, co-founder of Mobile Monday Boston, and architect of the Kero Mobile AppStore. He’s also great fun to have a conversation with over your favorite beverage. Take the conversation technical, discuss business, or get him to tell you the legend of Biskero. It’s a conversation you won’t forget.”

QUI application for Nokia N9, share your location

biskero | 20 November, 2011 19:32

The QUI and QUI Lite for MeeGo Nokia N9 are live in the Nokia Store. The QUI Lite verison does not support Email/Facebook/Twitter/Google+ sharing compared to the full version, get QUI full version for these additional sharing features.

QUI allows you to share via SMS/Email/Facebook/Twitter/Google+ your location to a friend. Use your GPS to get your location and share it by sending a SMS/Email/Facebook/Twitter/Google+. Your friend will receive a link to a web page with your location on a map. GPS and Network access are used as positioning methods. No data is collected. No ads are shown on the application.”

Symbian Anna and Belle supporting Flash Lite 4 content

biskero | 02 September, 2011 21:38

Nokia release the new version of Symbian OS, Symbian Anna and announced Symbian Belle. Both support Flash Lite 4 content and if you have created content for Nokia touch devices, for example using Flash Lite 3, it will work out of the box on new devices. Great advantage both from a technical and business point of view.

Also from looking at some videos of Symbian Belle UI/UX looks like a great improvement in the direction of competing directly with Android, iOS and Windows Phone. I am waiting for the Nokia N9 and MeeGo to have a more wide comparison.

Looking forward to Nokia World in October.

Nokia Push Snowboarding and Burton project

biskero | 03 February, 2011 20:48

Not sure how many people know about this join project between Nokia Push Snowboarding – Burton. Burton is the top brand of snowbard gears in the world and pretty much the inventor of modern snowboarding. The R&D projects is testing the data collection from sensors on various parts of the riders and boards via a Nokia N8.

Basically Nokia and Burton got together to create a snowboard kit to collect data using different sensors via a Nokia N8 while riding a snowboard. They have the application tried by Terje Haakonsen, a legend in the snowboard world!!!

Nokia Push Snowboarding – Burton made available both data collected from 4 riders and code snippets for collecting sensors data.

I am really looking forward to see the final product and get one for sure!
