phone kunshan 3g conference

The opening of the Kunshan 3G Conference was in traditional Chinese style with a big orange phone which said welcome. Very funny! A Kunshan phone with the map of Kunshan in the center button. The official city's logo.

The first half of the first day presented an overview on the China 3G market, the Japan 3G market, and the French 3G market. Speeches from MIXI MOBILE, Drecom.inc, 3G.cn, DeNA, and the Symbian Foundation China laid the ground for the Chinese to learn what was done before, what worked, what didn't work, in order to inspire the audience and support the industry.

Mobile SNS, mobile e-commerce are what is working well on 3G in Japan. Mobile TV - a total failure in 3G with decreasing percentage of market usage. China has the opportunity as the 3rd entry into the market to take the lead by learning from the past.

tanaka san

One of the most interesting people I met there, besides Serkan, Matty Mo, and Edwardo S, was Tanaka-san, a Japanese investor who used to work at Macromedia, before Adobe bought it. We reminisced about great Macromedia people we had in common. I remember speaking at Barcelona with the newly formed Adobe, about Anina Dress Up, my 360Fashion RSS rich media news reader, and went to the Nokia Champion dinner, so elegant, and met the CEO of Adobe Mobile and hung out after with the Adobe team, etc, and learned that Japan has a huge flash lite market! Tanaka-san is the most stylish guy in the whole tech industry that I ever met. Wow! Geeks take note!

Another notable person, Clement Bo - Vice Secretary-General - Great Wall Club

3G is the hottest buzz around the world now. China had now entered the stream of 3g services with the rest of the countries. In India too 3g services has been introduced. We can be sure that the near future will be in our own hands, all services and applications would be from mobile. I have checked the web page for the pictures and the news. China always has its own way of presenting things, and they have showed that here too by displaying the traditional orange phone for the introduction of 3G services.
