I'm a electronic engineer by training and a software engineer by profession. I gets interested with programming in Nokia firstly as a hobby. Eventually it has evolves from a hobby to a more serious matter. I appreciate the very helpful resources that is accessible through participation in Forum Nokia and believe it can help programmers of all fields to excel in it. Despite that i am a Forum Nokia Champion, Nokia continues to surprises me with tonnes of innovative features, programming platform and resources that keeps pouring onto the forum. I am making baby steps here and there and having great motivation to continue developing on what Nokia offers.

A new Qt SDK and a new ovi app

weiwei2 | 28 April, 2010 12:32

Today there are two new things for me.

Firstly, there is a beta launch of Qt SDK Beta. In previous Qt version, i need to download multiple other installer and lots of setup steps, and at some times confused myself on the libraries i need. This beta SDK really makes the installation process a brief. For the platform supported, there is online and offline version. I downloaded the offline version (820MB) and have it installed on my Vista machine. The installation itself is not more than few mouse clicks although the entire process take some 45 minutes.

The second thing would be my first app created using ovi app wizard. The app wizard really makes publishing a RSS feed WRT a breeze. My app is very simple, it simply display the blog of the moutain biking group that i join. Now i'm gonna promote all my member to try it out.  The app wizard enable me to post update to the app in future and that is what i gonna try in near future. However, too bad for now the app is not supported on N900 which i am using.

i do have a question on whether there a way to link directly to the app rather than to the publisher?
