Mobile Application Development Workshop at SVNIT Surat ! A Great Success. Thanks to Forum Nokia

Hi All,
 
We are very happy to announce that Mobile Application Development Workshop (Already announced by Balagopal at http://tinyurl.com/yhpe5nu ) was a great success. About 200 participants of various Universities and IT Industry attended the Two Day Workshop at Sardar Vallabhbhai  National Institute of Technology, Surat under their annual technical event MindBend.
 
 
 
First day Prof. Kiran Trivedi delivered a brief introduction to Forum Nokia Developers Community and various developer resources and support provided by Forum Nokia. The second Session of day one included an interactive discussion of comparison of various programming platform for Symbian Developers. Participants were also given a highlight of Maemo 5 Platform and upcoming MeeGo project.
 


Day Two of workshop was full of hands on coding examples for various platforms such as Qt, Widgets and Python. Chintan Umraliya conducted a session on Nokia Web Runtime Widget Platform which included coding examples and introduction to Nokia Mobile Web templates. The session provided a detailed guidance of various WRT development IDEs, WRT plug-ins and utilities such as API Bridge and WRT Platform Services. Chintan Umraliya also presented various developers opportunities with Nokia Ovi Store.
 


The Final session was conducted by Mehul Jajal which explained various developer tools provided by Forum Nokia. The session included a live demo of setting up Symbian Development Environment on a PC and installing Qt for Symbian tools. This session was followed by number of code examples of Qt for Symbian and some small application development.
 
 

We had also planned a Competition together with Forum Nokia after workshop. The Competition included a Quiz about various discussions during two day sessions and Forum Nokia activities. The winner of the competition was given a Nokia 5233 device by Forum Nokia.
 

 
We received a great support from Forum Nokia during entire event. We would like to thank Forum Nokia for its motivation and help. We special thank Balagopal, Shiraz Dutta and other FN India staff

A very good write-up about the entire event of the Mobile Application Development at SVNIT, Surat!! These workshops are a great exposure to the participants where they can learn a lot from talks by experts in their respective fields and the interaction during these discussions are an enriching experience for them. They had even conducted a competition where the winner walked away with a Nokia 5233 device which was presented by Forum Nokia - a truly kind gesture!!
