We have released an Nokia N950 software update (39-5).
Currently it is available over the air, withcorresponding oneclickflasher-tools available later. To initiate the update, please click on the "deviceupdate"-notification in the events screen.
|
Please ensure that your device is running "beta 2" before updating it. The update does not work on older versions, and you run the risk of rendering your device unusable if you apply the update to a device that contains an older image - then you will have to wait for the oneclickflashers. |
There is no need to update the SDK as applications written using Qt SDK 1.1.3 will work with this new release.
For details about the release, refer to the release notes.
So update your software, and enjoy.

If update failed, just flash beta 2 and try again. This has helped other people.

It looks like you did a cut/paste from MS Word into the article editor, and some of that formatting debris shows up on this post's summary. Would you please go into the blog editor, select the copy, and click the little "erase" button in the upper right row of the WYSIWYG editor to remove? Thank you.

Look like some other people hit the same issue as well, please take a look at:

It seems that for most of the failure reports thus far the remedy is quite simple.
The first startup after the update can take a lot longer than normally (as the device content is reindexed), and hence waiting for the boot sequence to complete is the way to go.
However, this is far from intuitive, and would benefit from being signposted better.

I cant see my device working after this update.
after update, it restarted and showing NOKIA logo whole day until battery down.
and now i cant start the device anymore.
wht is this?
was that really update or Virus??
very disappointed with this update and work behind this. :(
Now any expert can suggest the solution please?
lavonius | 24/10/2011, 20:01
Trust us: it is an update.
Why you cannot start the device any more?
Does it charge properly?
Was the device running the beta2-release before you updated it?
Anyway, an update to the one-click-flasher tool is on its way, with that you will be able to reflash the device.

Waiting for one-click-flasher update, we are a lot in the bricked n950 club, please try to do fast

Hi I can't boot anymore, I updated from beta2 and my camera wasn't working, I then flashed with beta2 and my camera worked (yeah I "downgraded" one time, maybe the first time the update didn't completed) but the keyboard light's were not as bright as usual so I decided to flash beta 2 but I got an error about downgrading, and now I can't boot, is there anything I can do? Thanks!
Still no Skype?
Sasler | 19/10/2011, 15:53
Thanks for the update, but I was disappointed to notice that there still is no Skype in it. Should it not be included, since it's in N9? When can we expect it?
But thank you for the work you are doing :)
