We have started rolling out the PR1.1 update to N9 phones over the air. This update brings the N9 software to effectively same level as is currently available for the Nokia N950 device (details).

The first regions and operators have already been targeted, with others to follow in the coming days. So do not despair, if the update is not yet available for your phone. The changes and improvements include:
Please accept also the application updates available to make most of your new update. To check for updates on your phone, select Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications. EDIT 8.11/1545: updated with note about software parity with N950 PR1.1. |

Any chance of publishing the list of regions where you published the update already!? I got mine from qtdd2011 in Munich and I have no clue on which mechanisms it checks for the updates. German IP, Product Code or whatsoever...
Cheers

...additional note: This PR 1.1 update for N9 puts the N9 sw on par with earlier release of N950 sw (http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Blogs/blog/n9-developer/2011/10/25/n950-firmware-version-39-5-now-available-as-a-flashable-image). I.e. developer with N950 and 39-5 have in effect the same sw as those with N9 and 40-4.

...thanks for clarification. So they're on par now. Will the image be available in Navifirm only after the global rollout via FOTA has finished?
SanttuAhonen | 08/11/2011, 15:06
Nope, we are not giving out the list of availability per region / operator as it is not be a plan carved in stone. We naturally have a master plan but it has flex based on the update volumes, server replication times, actual load and a few dozen other variables.
You just need to hold your breath. You'll get it, 'in two weeks' as we used to deliver a certain N900 update long ago.

Alright :-)

;)

Are applications like the twitter client, facebook or email getting seperate, small updates when they are ready in the future or will the small fixes always come with big updates?
MoritzJT | 09/11/2011, 01:06
But could you atleast leave all targets open over nighttime for everybody in regions that didn't get it at daytime?! A few more nightly geeks won't kill the load of your servers that host the updates for the other side of the world :-/

- Dialer inputs got scrambled upon the first reboot, up until apt-get --reinstall installed the mp-harmattan-001-pr
- All Camera software busted, including Nokia camera-ui ( Camera pipeline error: "Internal GStreamer error..." camerabingeneral::gst_camera_add_element(): QCameraCameraBin::linking capsfilter6 failed...)
Minor intrigueness also that version number states: PR1.1 (10.2011.34-1_PR_001) Instead of 40-4, so I suspect the kernel didn't get properly flashed, am I correct?
corsac | 09/11/2011, 14:26
Hey,
I've created a thread on forum.meego.com (http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=4881), but basically, the kernel is not correctly updated on PR1.1. The debian package is updated, but the new image is not flashed. Any idea how to fix that?
donofworld | 09/11/2011, 14:46
I successfully updated my N9 to PR1.1 but version number doesn't show correct number and also camera app is not working and even 3rd party camera app like camera PRO is also not working...while on other end My n9 has all updated version features like music control in home screen, new twitter app etc
some one please suggest solution because my phone is from Finland and I'm from India!
corsac | 09/11/2011, 16:43
It'd be nice to provide firmware images (for PR1.0 and PR1.1 as well) for unbricking N9 too. PR1.0 can be found here and there, but no PR1.1.

I'm having problems with my app using the qtmobility.gallery and would like to have it running before the end of the month since you had that icon competition running as well... Please hurry that update for Finland!!!!!
lavonius | 14/11/2011, 10:22
This version indeed includes Qt Mobility 1.2, see http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/docs/library/html/qtmobility/index.html?tab=0 for details.
More details about the roll out
SanttuAhonen | 08/11/2011, 14:53
The gradual roll out will happen region by region and operator by operator; total global coverage will take up to few weeks. In other words, if you do not see the update yet in your device, you need to wait.
