The upcoming MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan update (to version 1.2) features improved support for application updates.
The updated platform software will detect and announce updates to applications that are distributed through the Nokia Store.
And there was much rejoicing!
However, there are a couple of things developers need to be aware of when creating updates:
See the Nokia Publisher Guide for further details.

Does the application manager show any form of changelog for updates yet? It would be nice to know what updates are supposed to do.
(I know a full system update does show some details, but individual non-store app updates don't seem to)

As pepitoe already brought it up...
Changelogs would be greatly appreciated, so consumers would know better if a bug that's been bothering them has been fixed or not.

keep the name of the content item?

Oh, I just changed the name of the content items last week.
So I guess I should revert my changes back to the initial name?
But why is the content item name necessary for the update process? It should be anyway handled on package base and I'm currently easily able to create duplicate content item names. They should be identified with the ID, not with the name.
