Introducing Symbian Horizon for Faster, Easier App Publishing

pkrass | 26 March, 2010 22:12

Are you a developer looking for an easier, faster way to get your mobile apps onto Ovi Store? Symbian Horizon can help. It is a new (still in beta), two-part program from Symbian Foundation. The first part is an application-publishing program designed to reduce barriers to success and increase the profitability of delivering applications on the Symbian platform. Horizon will provide a service that allows developers to write an application once, and publish in dozens of stores worldwide. The second part is a Directory of Symbian Signed applications that will enable developers to display and advertise their applications.

Among the early beneficiaries of Symbian Horizon are Mobbler, a mobile Last.fm player for Nokia smartphones; and TextQuick, an app that lets mobile consumers send text messages in just two clicks.
