Enter Nokia’s
Calling All Innovators 2010 contest, and you could win either $500,000 in prize money or a $1 million investment. Entries are being accepted now through 18 May in four categories:
- Eco/Being Green: Help save the planet with innovative, eco-friendly applications for Nokia devices.
- Entertainment: Rock and show off the coolest multimedia features on the latest Nokia mobile devices. This category includes music, multimedia, and games.
- Productivity: Make consumers’ daily lives easier, and help them to be more efficient. This category includes utilities, business, and personal-finance applications.
- Life Improvement: Better the lives of people in developing countries. This category includes education, agriculture, health, and more.
All submissions will be eligible for special prizes, too. For example, two $500,000 prizes will be awarded to the best application for the Nokia N900 and the best cross-platform application using Qt.
Also, 11 countries will offer
prizes for mobile applications are locally relevant to consumers living in the country. The countries are: Australia, Belgium, Czech, Hong Kong, Hungary, Netherlands, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Vietnam. These entries are also due by 18 May.
In addition, this year’s competition will feature the Nokia
Growth Economy Venture Challenge. The winner of this contest will receive a $1 million venture-capital investment. The winning idea could be hardware, software, or a new service opportunity that promotes upward mobility globally. The deadline for these entries is 18 April.
