Nokia’s Ovi Store just keeps on growing. Mobile consumers can now access Ovi Store from 190 countries, and 90 per cent of them can access Ovi Store in their local language, thanks to the site’s ability to display 30 languages, including everything from English, French, and Spanish to Vietnamese, Malay, and Indonesian. In fact, Ovi Store’s most active markets – as measured by the number of downloads – are a diverse group (listed in alphabetical order): China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and the U.K. To keep these consumers connected, nearly 90 operators now offer mobile billing for Ovi Store in 26 national markets.
Ovi Store can also handle a wide range of Nokia devices – 120 models in all. The site’s consumers appreciate cutting-edge technology; six of the top 10 downloading devices are S60 5th Edition (Touch UI) devices.
Multiple releases and user-experience improvements to Ovi Store have improved browsing and search, resulting in greater numbers of downloads. Daily traffic on Ovi Store now tops 1.7 million downloads a day, and several individual apps have exceeded 1 million downloads.
Looking ahead, the Ovi Store team promises even more local languages, additional billing support, and lots more apps. Together, these features will continue to make Ovi Store the easiest way for mobile consumers to discover and download the latest apps, games, and more for their Nokia devices.
