Today, Microsoft published the latest version of the Windows Phone SDK 7.1. This Release Candidate delivers the finalised API's as well as the 'Go Live' license which will allow developers to submit their apps to Windows Marketplace. All current Windows Phone publishers are being asked to use this latest SDK to update their current apps and resubmit them to take advantage of new Window Phone capabilities. New Profilers and Marketplace Test kits are new additions in the Release Candidate version of the SDK to accelerate the time to complete technical certificate testing.

Further information and release notes can be found in the Windows Phone section of Nokia Developer.

It is also worth noting that since the announcement of the Microsoft and Nokia alliance, the registrations to Nokia's Launchpad developer programs have increased by 55 per cent. Those Launchpad members as well as our PRO members of Nokia Developer programs are eligible for free registration to Microsoft App Hub. Details are explained on the Nokia Developer Program pages

Nokia and Microsoft are also going to deliver new hands-on training sessions for Windows Phone. Dates have been announced for Italy, UK, Spain, France and Germany. Microsoft experts will provide training for Silverlight and XNA Game Studio and to create cool UI’s with Microsoft Metro. Familiar Nokia faces will be on hand to show how to take your content into the Windows Marketplace for the forthcoming Nokia with Windows Phones. Other countries will follow shortly. Register for the training session nearest to you.
