The winners were recently announced for the
NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge in India. The grand prize went to Eterno Infotech of Bangalore for its location-aware application, NewsHunt-Local. This mobile app incorporates local search and location-based advertising with information from India’s most popular mobile news services, all in local languages. Two runners-up were also announced: MaxMobility for its ChildTracker app, and Genesys International for its GenesysGolf app. The NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is a worldwide competition for developers of innovative location-based services that use dynamic positioning and NAVTEQ maps.

The recently introduced Nokia X2 is an affordable music device built on Series 40 6th Edition. Key features include a 5-megapixel EDOF camera, stereo speakers, internal FM radio antenna, MP3 player, up to 16 GB of memory card storage, and as many as 26.8 hours of music playback time between recharges. Other features of the new Nokia X2 include Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and MIDP Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs. The device will ship this quarter.
