Just came back home from Nokia World 2010. For those who could not joing us in London or didn't attend the keynote, I have added the Sept 15 keynote video here. Sir Tim Berners-Lee talked about the Web in his keynote address! I couldn't agree with him more, and I hope you do too and start thinking about web applications on mobile.
After Sir Sir Tim Berners-Lee, stay tuned for EVP, Mary T. McDowel, her keynote on Mobile Phone. From her keynote, you can understand Nokia is not a tech company that just talks about numbers, market share, and profits. There is a mission to be a people company as well, connecting people to health care, banking, crop pricing information. Check out 5:21 of the keynote and you will know what I mean. (Nokia recently has been Nokia is the world's most sustainable technology company according to prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes Review 2010 as well).
Last but not least, at the closing of Nokia World, Nokia awared a million-dollar prize to a Kenyan developer during the Calling All Innovators and Venture Challenge Award segment by the newly appointed CEO, Stephen Elop. The Venture Challenge Award is for an idea that demonstrates how mobility can dramatically improve the lives of people who live in areas where the average income is under US$5/day.
