Smartphoneware, a Symbian developer founded in 2005 and based in Odessa, Ukraine, recently launched the latest version of TaskMan, a handy app for multitasking masters of Nokia Symbian devices.

Designed to finesse the features of the built-in task switcher for increased device usability, TaskMan provides complete information on running mobile applications, offers a "quick start" shortcut for fast application launches, and provides a process control view for when savvy users need a deeper look at favorite, installed and running smartphone apps.

According to Smartphone.com, TaskMan has the added advantage of being able to run in stand-alone mode or in tandem with the built-in task manager. And just like a full-bodied task manager for a PC or Mac, TaskMan can even kill misbehaving processes, providing the user with a flexible solution to annoying freeze-ups and slowdowns.

TaskMan is part of Smartphoneware's complete line of complementary mobile apps (what they call the "best" series), providing content organizers, personal information managers, security solutions, desktop applications, database management, development tools, games and numerous utilities to millions of users worldwide, the developers say.
"Ovi Store is an ideal distribution channel for users who have never used the Internet to get software and who may not have even planned to add software when buying the phone," according to Smartphoneware's Inga Simkovska.
The latest version of TaskMan is available globally from Ovi Store and can be purchased for 2 Euros.
