Gravity is a fully-featured Twitter app with a gorgeous looking and highly-praised user interface. This native Symbian application supports multiple Twitter accounts, image uploading to MobyPicture, TwitPic and others, multiple Twitter Searches, Twitter Trends, Groups, Alerts, Auto-Connect and many more features. Gravity was rated #1 among Symbian Guru’s list of Top 5 Social Networking applications.
The app consists of a series of tabs that can be scrolled left or right for viewing. The timeline tab show tweets or updates from all of the user’s contacts, just like the default view of Twitter. Updates are displayed with the twitter's avatar and a time stamp on the post. The Gravity user can click on any of these updates to respond with an @reply message to the poster. Alternatively, the user can press the right soft-key to retweet the message or follow its links.
There are version of Gravity for both Nokia Symbian (5.0 & 3.2) devices. The Nokia Symbian 5.0 version takes full advantage of the touchscreen capabilities, enabling actions from the touching of the tweets on the screen.
Features include:
• Tabbed View of Timeline, Replies, Direct Messages, Favourites, …
• Auto-Connect and Auto-Roam to WLAN
• Multiple Accounts for both Twitter and Identi.ca/Laconi.ca as well as readers for Google and Facebook
• Configurable Audio-Alerts for Timeline, Replies and Direct Messages
• Multiple, saved Twitter earches with optional Audio-Alerts
• Uploading and Previewing of pictures to a broad range of services including MobyPicture, TwitPic, Posterous, and others.
"We are pleased to be developing for the Symbian platform, and I would encourage other developers to do so", says Jan Ole Suhr, CEO of MobileWays.de and creator of Gravity. "It helps to have Nokia behind us, such as when Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo demonstrated Gravity as a 3rd party app to Walt Mossberg at the Wall Street Journal’s All Things Digital conference."
The Symbian 5.0 version of Gravity allows touchscreen manipulations.
The Symbian 3.x version was introduced earlier in 2009.
Gravity is available from Ovi Store either as a 10-day free trial version or the full version can be purchased at $9.99 (USD).
