Ravensoft, a subsidiary of Ravensoft OY and Nordic Software Solutions based in Manchester, UK was founded in 2007 and provides software development and consultancy services.

Battery Extender, a breakthrough app from Ravensoft, available at the Ovi Store's debut in May 2009, extends the standby time of Nokia Symbian (5.0 or 3.x) devices by up to 30%. The app allows users to fine tune a range of situation-specific profiles to extend battery life without compromising the performance of the handset.

Battery Extender can handle simple scenarios such as extending battery life when power is running low or more complex actions like prioritizing GPS power for a jog around the park.

The app also manages a variety of background settings such as backlight brightness, screensavers and Bluetooth – to name only a few.  It responds to system events in order to optimize battery life as power levels decrease and allows users to automatically shut down selected applications.

Battery Extender is offered in both a free Lite version and a paid Pro version. The Lite version features two of the Pro version's seven settings, in addition to a free 14-day trial of the full Pro feature set.

Tweets60 was released in the Ovi Store in June 2009 and was the first free native twitter application for the S60 platform.  It was an instant hit, providing consumers with a simple and accessible way to update and manage their Twitter accounts on the go.

Tweets60 provides users with a simple yet powerful interface for Twitter that shows new tweets, direct messages and your latest updates. Advanced functionality like retweets, follower management and background updates are all part of the basic package contained in the Tweets60 Lite version.

Building on their initial success with Tweets60, Ravensoft developed a Pro version that adds TwitPic integration, the ability to follow search terms and other features for power users.

"The Ovi Store has been a wonderful opportunity for Ravensoft. Before the Ovi Store, reaching this market size would have been impossible without a large marketing budget.  Initially we attributed the large increase in our downloads to us being one of the earlier apps in the store, but as the variety and competition has increased, so has the user base, resulting in sustained growth in our downloads," said Director Andy Nugent.

Battery Extender Lite and Tweets60 Lite are available worldwide for Nokia Symbian (5.0 and 3.x) devices in either free or paid versions. Battery Extender Pro is available for $2.99 (USD) and Tweets60 Pro is available for $1.99 (USD), both from the Ovi Store.
