Lunaforte (a.k.a. Lunagames) creates fun mobile apps and casual games with community features. But they're not playing around when it comes to expanding their presence, having already published more than 20 free, ad-supported and premium applications through the Ovi Store that
have been downloaded over six million times in over 200 countries.
But what truly sets apart Lunaforte's games is their worldwide reach. Many of their games include built-in social networking features, allowing the company's users from more than 200 countries to compete for high scores on an online leader-board. Several games also have personalized Facebook integration, allowing players to go head-to-head against their friends.
While the company has a strong history of leveraging international partnerships to deliver strongly-localized apps, the majority of the company's hit titles in the Ovi Store have required little-to-no localization. Instead, they rely on straightforward but addictive game play with a minimal amount of text-based cues – the essence of mobile gaming.
The exception to this rule is the breakthrough app, Dictionary and Translation Pro, which supports translations from English into a wide set of languages ranging from Hindi to Arabic to Italian.
Online reviewers from New Hampshire to the Netherlands are raving about the challenging play and overall "coolness" of Lunagames' titles.
"The uptake on the Ovi Store has been quite impressive to say the least. We are particularly pleased with the strong consumer interest in our connected games portfolio which allows Ovi Store users across more than 200 countries to compete for the online leader-board," said Richard Hazenberg, CEO, Lunaforte.
