Offscreen Technologies, specializing in high quality touch-optimized apps for Symbian and Maemo touch devices, is a prolific developer with over 50 apps, games and ebooks on the Ovi Store to date. The response from consumers has been overwhelmingly positive, with titles
downloaded more than 34 million times in over 200 countries.
Part of the secret behind the Finnish company's breakneck pace for new product releases is its work on mobile development tools for Symbian platforms. The company has developed an integrated development environment (IDE) for Nokia Symbian (5.0 and 3.x) GUI-based applications. Called Origo IDE, it allows developers to quickly write code and automatically create native Symbian Installer files, all made possible by leveraging the capabilities of Nokia's Qt SDK. The company has been able to dramatically increase developer productivity and reduce time-to-market. One of the company's most popular apps,
Labyrinth Touch, was developed in only five days.
"By distributing our apps through Ovi Store by Nokia, Offscreen Technologies is able to further extend the popularity of our titles to Nokia users around the world. We've seen our apps downloaded 25 million times and we look forward to seeing more delighted Ovi Store users enjoying our apps around the world," said CEO Harri Myllynen of Offscreen Technologies.
Offscreen's 50+ applications are available for most Nokia Symbian (5.0 and 3.x) devices, like the 5530 XpressMusic, 5800 XpressMusic, N97, X6 and N97. Most apps and games are available for free or as a Lite trial version from Ovi Store with premium apps and games costing up to $2.99 (USD).

I've not tried any ovi apps yet, but will be sure to give it a go soon. That does seem to be a pretty good price for the premium apps, free is better though.
