Located in Japan, CELL established operations in 2001 with a focus on mobile ringtones.  The company has since expanded into the production of casual mobile games apps as well as software for personal computers and television.  As it has grown, the company has stayed focused on serving consumer needs while staying agile enough to adjust its strategy to target emerging industry trends and market needs.

Early on, CELL recognized a void in the consumer’s mobile messaging experience – a way to easily send and receive greeting cards on mobile devices.  CELL created Flash Greeting Mail for Nokia (FGMN) as a simple way for consumers to engage and send mobile digital cards for special occasions or for those "just because" messages.

Flash Greeting Mail for Nokia (FGMN) is an app that allows users to send animated and sound-enabled greetings via MMS or email on mobile devices.  Thanks to Nokia’s built-in Adobe Flash Lite player and Java capabilities, the process of creating and receiving digital mail on a Nokia phone is faster and smoother than on similar apps that are server-based.  Specifically, FGMN utilizes the built-in Flash player because it makes it possible for users to create and view digital mail directly on their device without having to connect to another server or install a Flash player plug-in.

Another unique feature of this app is the easy to use customization options which allow extensive user control without the need to navigate through complicated settings. 

With FGMN, a user generates a Flash (SWF) file by choosing from an assortment of mail templates such as congratulations, happy birthday, holidays (i.e. Christmas, New Years, etc.,) and general messages such as "thank you".  Users can add text, sound and photos to further personalize the greeting mail before sending to a family member, friend or acquaintance. A short and entertaining game can also be sent along with the greeting.

FGMN is available on the Nokia E71, E72, E73 devices, as well as Nokia Symbian (S^3 and 5.0) devices.  The app is free to download but users can also purchase additional template packages for $1.99 USD, that include themes such as cocktails, Christmas, film, butterflies, etc.   CELL just released a holiday theme package with three new templates that include a Santa Cane game and an animated countdown to the New Year with fireworks.         

                          

One user describes this app as, "It's so cool.  This is a very nice greeting card for holidays such as New Year’s and Christmas."

 


Aside from FGMN, CELL offers flash games like Monkey Mighty – a casual game where players aim to get the highest score by scrolling through waves of enemies, avoiding rocks and platforms along the way.  CELL also offers ringtones with sound effects like Eating Snack Chips and Japanese Sword Fighting.
