Dada Helps Consumers Express Themselves

Dada.net S.p.A (Dada) is distributing an assortment of personalization content on Ovi Store that encourages consumers to have fun on their mobile devices. Dada provides a wide scope of playful products ranging from classic and humorous wallpapers to ringtones. Within three months of releasing their first content on Ovi Store, the company received 4.3 million downloads from more than 190 countries.
Founded in 1995, Dada is an Italian company dedicated to digital music, mobile apps and social communities. The company is an international leader in digital music, entertainment and online gaming as well as in domain hosting and advanced online advertising solutions. Their mission is to help users create their own virtual space using technologies shaped by the convergence of web and mobile.
Dada attributes their success to the openness of Ovi Store and also to Nokia's powerful media and tools available to all developers. Dada's mobile product team is comprised of 10 professionals ranging from developers and designers to product and marketing managers. Dada's design and development process averages from one to two months for each app. This includes time to design and build the app as well as a thorough two week testing phase. The team also conducts careful market analysis to better target consumers based on their habits and mobile devices.
In particular, Dada utilized Qt 4.7 to develop apps optimized for Nokia Symbian^3 devices. Currently Dada is in the process of building its Play.me app, for streaming music, on the Qt framework, and plans to publish the app in Ovi Store later this month.
"We believe Qt has a great future," said Emanuele Bolognesi, Head of Mobile Apps at Dada. "Qt, in its early stages, already makes the development process much easier, and we are looking forward to the new releases of the SDK and more Qt-enabled devices from Nokia."
Aside from Qt, the team leverages a full toolbox of technologies to create their apps, such as SVG and bitmap graphics, Flash Lite and Java.
Dada has created a variety of popular apps. Whether a consumer prefers something cute and cuddly such as Dada's most popular wallpapers like
Donkey, Little Dog, Chaplin Panda or fancies real picture wallpapers, like famous celebrities or coffee beans, Dada's collection offers something for everyone who wants to cheer up his or her mobile device.

If Dada's impressive visuals aren't enough, the company also creates digital music ringtones. Building on its partnership with Sony Music in 2009, Dada offers a wide selection of popular music ringtones. Consumers can flashback to Michael Jackson’s greatest hits like P.Y.T. or rock out to current top tracks like Kings of Leon's Use Somebody.
Dada also provides off-the-wall ringtones. Some of Dada's most popular sound ringtones include
Traffic Stopper, Surface to Air Missile and Ding Dong.
The majority of Dada's ringtones and wallpapers are available on Nokia Symbian and Series 40 devices. Select wallpapers are available to download for free while others cost $.99 USD each. Ringtones are typically $2.99 USD.
