Latest Firmware v52.0.007 is now available for Nokia 5800

neois | 25 November, 2010 12:18

Just simple update it OTA. For you who don't know how to do:

 1) Go to Call screen

 2) Press *#0000#

 3) Options -> Check for update

Filesize isn't big but not small as well, it's 4.8MB. So if you have access to WiFi, it's the best choice since download directly using EDGE/3G will cost you some money.

No change log available yet but I suggest you to update it anyway.

Enjoy!

First Software Update for N8 available, improve stabilization

neois | 29 October, 2010 23:38

I just got an interesting update over Software update in my N8. The name of 3.3 MB software update is "Phone apps update". It comes with very short description "improve stabilization for phone applications". However, 3.3 MB sounds promising for me, so I decided to install it without doubt.

After update completed, I haven't seen any visible change but I obviously feel that everything run smoother even on the lagging HomeScreen!! :|

I didn't see any negative effect since now, so I think it's safe to install this update.

Please feel free to share your experience with this update.

"Tripod Mount", the most fit accessory for Nokia N8.

neois | 17 October, 2010 10:10

One week passed, I am very happy with my lovely Nokia N8. The image and video quality is very promising.

Last week I bought some accessory that I thought it is useful for my N8 over eBay and I got it this morning. Let guess what it is.... Tick Tock Tick Tock.... I believe you must know already from this blog entry topic, ha ha. Yes, it is "Tripod Mount"!

The package consists of two parts: Tripod and Phone Mount.

You can use the phone mount part with any standard tripod, small or big, tall or short, any as you need.

I could say that this one is the best accessory for N8. With this one, I hope you guys all will enjoy with your best camera phone ever! :D

How to Full Format your bricked N8?

neois | 11 October, 2010 21:39

Many guys here face the "brick" problem after trying to play with FontRouter. So I have to find the way to recover it and at last I found one. (And I have to warn you here that DON'T USE FontRouter ON YOUR N8 OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE)

Here is the method to full format and make bricked N8 come alive again:

1) Turn off your phone

2) Hold "Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key" and press power button until your phone shake

3) Wait until screen show properly... and welcome back!!

Please note that I found these problems after doing full format:

1. I lost Ovi Maps. However, you could reinstall it by download it here

2. I also lost Ovi Store 2.0 and I can't reinstall it since it always show "Unable to install".

So please DON'T do full format if not neccessary or actually I must say that DO IT ONLY AS YOUR LAST CHOICE.

Nokia Panorama : Take panorama picture on your N8

neois | 10 October, 2010 17:53

Interesting? Go to Ovi Store and search for "Nokia Panorama" and download it :)

N900 New Firmware 3.2010.02-8 (PR 1.1.1) is now available

neois | 16 February, 2010 09:10

The third firmware update of Nokia N900, 3.2010.02-8 (PR 1.1.1), has been released already.

You have two choices for updating this:

1. Update Over the Air (OTA): just check for update and you will be mentioned about new update. The package size is about 16.2 MB

2. Manual Flash: Downloaded firmware image from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php and flashed it yourself using Maemo Flasher.

No any change log yet but newer version should be better than older version, right? Cool

Update: One thing I found in new firmware is there are so many Regions were added, or Nokia is going to release it worldwide soon? :o

I just found video preview about Symbian^3 UI Design in Nokia Conversation website and can't wait to share it here. :)

Symbian^3 will come with multiple homescreen page for a bunch of widgets. Device will be powered by hardware acceleration, so UI should perform much faster and will certainly follow by better gaming experience. The most impressive thing is "Visual Multi-Tasking" which allow you to see every window opened visually.

neois | 01 February, 2010 11:47

After weeks of using Nokia N900, I feel little bit annoying that all application icon are stored in the same place "Others". When I want to launch some application, it's quite hard to find the application I want.

But the problem has gone with application named "Catorise". After install this application, N900 main menu was changed and categorized.

Now it's much easier and user friendly ^_^

To install it, just go to App Manager and install small utility named "Catorise"
