[Freeware] NorthPole for E72 : Turn your E72 to compass!

Here is my latest application for smart and nice device like E72. NorthPole is small utility that will turn your E72 to accurate compass. Application also provide full instruction to calibrate magnetometer for the most accurate result it can be.

Hi Jason,

I do want to publish it over Ovi Store but I still stuck at my same old problem, I don't have my own company to publish any of my app over Ovi Store myself. :'(

However, I may submit my app via Symbian Horizon program. Now I'm studying about it. :)

fantastic application. Thanks..

But I would like to bring to your notice a problem that I am facing with the application.

Actually, the west pointer points to the north, but the maps application points the north fine. I have verified this with my casio protek watch also.

Maybe this has to do something with the location. I am from India. Does it work fine in your location?

With so many features available in our E72, why not a compass too?? The application seems really cool with the instruction for calibration of the magnetometer for accuracy! With mobiles being so mach a part and parcel of one's most treasured personal possessions, I am sure “add-ons” like this will be welcomed by users! I am sure it will come in useful one way or another at some point of time! Hope we get more like this!!

It is rather convenient to know northpole magnetic from your mobile phone. Besides it's nice that this is a freeware and can use in e series nokia phone. This application is very useful if you lost in the jungle or in someplace where you dont now where is it. Frankly speaking I wouldn't like to have a chance to try it, but the fact that it is very useful is out of the question.

dear, really an amazing thing, i just read the article and tried on my E52, it works, really works, and shows perfectly the NORTH, 0.86 downloaded, it woks in INDIA also

Guys, I have a Nokia E72 and I don't understand how you can see the compass. When I open the application I only see the calibration view (like the screen shot on top) and I don't see the compass.

Can anyone help please.

Please move your E72 in the direction showed on screen to calibrate the compass. After 4-5 seconds of moving, the screen will change to compass screen.
