Seriously, where can we buy an N950? I want to support more platforms than iOS, but Android is a joke. Java on a phone? pffft. I'm fairly confident I can have a reasonably portable C++ code base that will allow me to target Maemo and iOS from a common base, but I could use some real hardware.

All I can find is mention that the N950 developer program is closed. I've been watching rumors on this for some time in hopes it would come true. Apparently, over just a few weeks they went from vapor to all units allocated. I hadn't jumped in on the dev program yet because there'd be no point if the N900 was the last. N9 looks pretty sweet, but I REALLY want a keyboard, and the N900 keyboard looks cramped compared to N950.

I called up the head office in Finland and asked for Developer Relations or Developer Support. The operator told me that they can only transfer by name, not department, at the switchboard. So I'm supposed to know all the names of the people in the department I want to reach? If I knew those, I'd probably also have direct numbers and not be stuck calling the main line. This whole thing seems to be completely bungled so far.

Nokia, PLEASE, get some more units made and available. Don't let this moron from M$ sink you like SGI. Stand up for Maemo and show the market you are serious, else you'll be relegated to being just another WinPhone OEM and you can say good by to profits and long-term viability. Also, some public accessibility for at least developers would help to show us we aren't just stuck out on our own in this endeavor. Reserving all the units for your existing devs really does not help attracting new developers with more ideas for your platform.
