Why not html?
Is there a good reason for not using html in stead of xhtml? I've loaded a bunch of html pages on to my nokia 9210 and they seem to work. Furthermore, browsing the internet displays pages that are most likely not in xhtml. Why xhtml?

Hello!
XHTML is a step forward from HTML 4.01, in other words it is the reformulation of HTML 4.01 in XML. W3C4s goal with XHTML was to define a stadard that provides richer Web pages on various browser platforms including mobile phones, TVs, PDAs, desktops etc. WAPForum has defined that WAP 2.0 will be based on XHTML (more precisely, XHTML Mobile Profile) because of the advantages and possibilities that XHTML will bring to mobile applications. XHTML Mobile Profile is optimized markup language for mobile devices with small screens, limited memory resources and prosessing power.
Kind regards,
