OVI Java app complited, what next?
Hy there,
I have hired a developer to develop a simple Java app for OVI store that pulls the latest image from a RSS feed,
and show it as "Image of The Day". The app is now completed and I have it sitting on my computer as app.JAD file.
What do I need to do next before submitting it to the OVI store for verification and approval?
Do I need to verify it myself first with some kind of Java license? Can I do it myself?
How much does this cost if yes, and how do I engage in the procedure?
many thanks
Gregor
Re: OVI Java app complited, what next?
If you only have the .jad file, then you don't have the whole application (a .jad file is just a text file, which describes where the actual application, a .jar file) is + some additional "metadata".
You need to have the .jar file signed. See http://www.javaverified.com for more about that.
You also need to have registered on http://publish.ovi.com/ and then the Ovi Publish people have to accept your company to the program, and then they presumably provide you with all the details and access for uploading your app to Ovi Store.
I suggest you sign up and watch the Forum Nokia "publishing to Ovi" webinar: http://www.forum.nokia.com/Events/Webinars.xhtml#Webinar
