QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
An app we uploaded for the Ovi Store is getting rejected with "Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate" ...
The app is Symbian Signed and the certificate is valid until 2019. There are no certificate issues with our tests -- anyone have any idea why this is happening? Any solutions? Nokia has yet to respond.

This is the QA message:
Comments from the QA team:
Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Summary: Application was not properly signed
Requirement: All application and contents being submitted to Nokia must be certified through trusted foundations such as Java Verified or Symbian Signed and must obtain a signed certificate before it is accepted through Publish to Ovi. Steps to conduct the test: 1. Select the application/content to download. 2. Try to install it 3. Observe the error message when the user tries to install: “Expired Certificate” Expected Results: The application should not display any certificate messages. The application must be signed. (public, Moderation in progress -> Qa failed)

Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Do you have a publisher id?
Did you submit the application to express signed or certified signed?
Are you sure you uploaded to OVI the correct application.
There was a known issue with the 5800 where if it was rebooted without a SIM then no apps can be installed and you did get an error as above. But I must stress this was a 5800 only issue.
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
@ Paul, thanks for your reply please see below:
Do you have a publisher id?
- Yes I have a publisher ID.
Did you submit the application to express signed or certified signed?
- The application is expressed signed.
Are you sure you uploaded to OVI the correct application.
- Yes I have uploaded, to OVI, the correct application. I have tested it on my end and I get no certification error messages. This app is meant for the 5800.
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Search both these forums and the Nokia support forums for "5800 expired certificate" as this is a known issue on the 5800 when you boot it the first time without a SIM card being installed.
I suggest you go back to Nokia, pointing out this is a known defect and make sure the tester was aware of it before they did the test as it sounds like the device was in a state where it would never install anything.

Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Thanks Paul, we'll do that and post any results.
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
The 5800 version of our app was failed by OVI for the same reason on Saturday. We're contacting them with details of the known problem, and VerifySymbianSigned / AnalySIS results.
Is there a Nokia reference number for this bug?
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Not that I know of, there probably should be however, the reference I provided is probably the best overview of the issue.
Searching google for "5800 expired certificate" certainly throws up plenty of issues
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
Hi brocklehurst, have you received a response back from Nokia on this issue? They have yet to respond to us and our inquiry was sent a week ago.
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
No, nothing back. We contacted them 9 days ago.
Re: QA Problem - Failed Case 1: Expired Certificate
They just got back to us today with this:
"I've passed this information on to our QA team. (It's worth noting they are somewhat backlogged with the upcoming store launch, so it may be a short while before the issue can be addressed.)"
If I get any more info I'll post it here.
