yes obvioulsy Python can be used with Google map API and can display static images. You can find a example at the wiki.

Gargi, your answer has nothing to do with the question ;) sumanthgwn didn't ask about Google Maps, but about [url="http://code.google.com/appengine/"]Google App Engine[/url].
I don't know if PyS60 can be used to develop this kind of application since I have no experience with Google App Engine at all. The best thing to do is probably to read their documentation carefully and, if it's plausible, try it.
And another thing, Gargi. There's no point in telling someone to search for an article and then immediately giving the link yourself. Doing one of the two is enough, otherwise you're just creating useless posts that make the discussion hard to follow.
