OVI Maps 3 - Size of Maps-Data

Hi there.

I just ordered a new Nokia N97 mini and I would like to use the new free OVI maps 3.
Therefore I want to order a microSDHC memory card just now, so that it is delivered since the phone arrives. But I don´t know what size of microSDHC I should take.

Can anybody tell me, what size the OVI map files for Germany, Europe or every available country have?

You should take as big as you can.. Anyway, the maps data requirements depends on which areas you want to add, basically you can select just the areas you want to have and get them downloaded to your device, I would suppose for most users 2-4 MB should be enough.

I know, that the data "packet" needed to a single navigation is about 2 - 4 MB. But I read about the possibility to load the whole maps and store them on a memory card, so that the speed in calculating and statring a navigation increases and it isn´t anymore needed to download the maps each time you want to navigate anywhere...

And that´s why I asked for the filesize of the whole maps available at OVI.

All the maps for the entire world are about 5.5Gb.
Europe are 2.25Gb.
Germany in total are 360Mb.
