Show icon and text in Notification doropdown without Push Notification

Hello,

I am looking to show an icon and some related text, or maybe all graphics/image in the Notification Panel in Symbian Belle directly from the running app on the device, without using the Push Notification service.

I've been searching a bit around but so far didn't find much luck.

I just need some hints in the right direction.

AFAIK there is no public api to this time which can help you in achieving that. But lets wait from some more Nokia Experts to come in and give their views.

Looking forward for some ideas about it. It would be great if there's some easy to use APIs to do that. This will open up tons of ideas for app developers to easily integrate some of the app's functionality in the always available dropdown panel. Just like in Android and iOS.
