Need to disable auto-brightness in my app

Hi

I am making an app where i have to control the brightness myself, but the N9 auto brightness screws it up, so i should disable when my app is running, and re-enable it when it gets closed.
I cant find anywhere an api call to do so, but i heared that there is one even though it might not be public.
But could nokia please reveal me/us how to do that?

Please please, no one knows how to do this? I really really need to disable the auto light sensor when in my app, or all my smart logic for managing the brightness goes to hell..
I believe it is something that can be managed, right? i mean, im not going to brick a phone because i disable the light sensor, am i?
So please tell me how to do it.. :(

I don't know, but you might want to ask this in [url]http://talk.maemo.org[/url] . It seems to me that there might be people hanging around in there who know plenty about the s/w internals of N9.
