stream video and save it at the same time

Good day

is there a way to stream a video from online location and also save the streamed video on the device.

I've looked on quite few posts, but could not find anything clear, except for this [URL="http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/LFNfvMaPE2IZQHvr2yq1"]post[/URL].

Any suggestion is welcome, or if this is not possible, is progressive download possible? i.e. download the video and play it locally while its being downloaded (the 2 operations has to be simultaneous to some extend.)
