All Nokia discussion board member,

Re: New Forum Management
Farewell Ron, wherever you fare - read that on an other site where you also have done some miracles. These 7 years have been an interesting journey :)
G'day, Hamish - if that is a correct interpretation of your location line.

Re: New Forum Management
Hi All
Thanks Ron for your very kind introduction, and everyone else for your welcome. "G'day" is indeed the correct term, as I'm based in Melbourne, Australia (my Nokia team is in Tampere, Finland). Looking forward to working with you!
I've created a this blog to briefly show my appreciation to Ron - feel free to add your comments too.

Re: New Forum Management
Hi Marcelo
Well its official that I'm community manager for the forums (along with wiki, blogs, and shared responsibility for projects with Tomi). There is another role for working with Champions, who will be introduced to the community very soon.
Hamish, are you ready for attending meetings in the middle of the night ? Just kidding :)
I'm based in GMT +10, so provided you mean the middle of your night, and not the middle of mine, fine :-)
I'm fine with meetings that have a clear agenda and cake.
It will be excellent to have you as our new manager. Congratulations !
Thank you. Tough shoes to fill, but the moderation teams that Ron created will doubtless cover for any shortcomings I might have.
regards
Hamish

What kind of cake? Where should it be delivered, or will you come and eat it where ever the cake is available?

I'm not afraid to answer the hard questions. My favourite is raspberry coconut cake, but the only one that wouldn't be acceptable is wedding cake with traditional horrible marzipan icing. If my boss can find the budget I will come to the cake, but otherwise I guess I'll just have to buy my own. I think we're moving off topic, but seriously, if we need to have a meeting happy to do so.

Re: New Forum Management
Thanks for many years of excellent work with the Developer community Ron. You will be missed here. And agreed - Hamish is definitely the right guy to take over the job.
I'll also highlight at the same time that folks might have better chance reaching me through here nowadays, though I'm still occasionally reading this DiBo also (and try to maintain a few things in the wiki).

Re: New Forum Management
@Ron:
As the day of your retirement is coming closer day by day, the feeling of something loosing is getting tough. You are the pillar of this community. The things which we saw in the front are the results of all your efforts which you had put to make this community what it is today. So Hats off to you.
We will always miss you. :)
@Hamish:
Congratulations for your new role. Also, Best of luck for your upcoming challenges. :)
