Nokia Maps for blind - Terminal Student France
Hello,
We are 4 students in French high-school diploma and we have a project for
the exam. We have a project for the visually impaired people (blind
people). Our project is to assembled a GPS on a blind cane , with that,
the user can move independently. As I have a Nokia N8-00 and Nokia Maps
is very perfomant. If we could adapt the interface of Nokia Maps for blind
people. This is why we are contacting you. We ask you if it's possible to
create an application that uses maps (pedestrians) of Nokia Maps. Our idea
is to save 5 destinations that are pre-defined by a normal person and when
the blind person speaks to the smartphone, the application would recognize
the destination and route will launch.
We are interrested in all information.
Thank you very much for your answer and sorry for english language mistake.

Generally, in theory, you might be able to do that. Then again not certain how well the Qt routing API would provide walking routes, and how well the general GPS inaccuracy would complicate your-own-logic-you-make-for-tracking-the-route. So in essense, I would doubt that it would be really safe and usable, but then again I could be wrong, and you could try it out.
anyway, you could always try asking your techner, whether the failing to get it working is option, and if the study would be more used on finding the gaps on current services for making services like this.
