Bluetooth 2.1 on a C05-00?
Hi @ll,
I've got an old Nokia 6303i Classic and an iPod Touch.
It has been quite simple to connect the iPod to the Nokia over Bluetooth and to use the PAN-Service of the Nokia. So I don't need any expensive iPhone: I've got a small Nokia-Phone for all common purposes and if I really need to check something online as I'm outside I can use my iPod through Bluetooth and Nokia.
A few days ago I bought a new Nokia: C05-00 5MP.
This device has a build-in GPS and is smaller and lighter than the Classic one.
But...
There is no way to get a PAN-connection with this device. Wether with my iPod, nor with my Macbook Pro (iOS 10.6.8 or Windows XP-SP3).
I found the following technical descriptions:
6303i classic: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/6303i_classic/
C05-00 5MP: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/C5-00_5MP/
(please refer to the item Connectivity/Bluetooth Profiles)
I guess my problem is that the classic phone is fitted with Bluetooth Version 2.1 (and can PAN) but the C05-00 has only the older 2.0-Version on board (and cannot PAN).
Am I right?
Any idea how I could upgrade my new phone to Bluetooth 2.1?
According to the developer database (http://library.developer.nokia.com/index.jsp?topic=/S60_3rd_Edition_Cpp_Developers_Library/GUID-CEE609D8-50E3-422D-8FF9-42C25D669E59_cover.html) Symbian S60 3rd Edition should be compatible with the PAN-Standard.
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Yvan.

Welcome to the Nokia Developer discussion board, as this DiBo concentrates on development related issues, you might find more end-user problems related Dibo better suited for your query. Here's link for one: http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/
Re: Bluetooth 2.1 on a C05-00?
Yvan, Bluetooth profiles are not related to the Bluetooth version, in general. Or said differently: Nokia Symbian does not support the service, you are looking for. If you need this, you have to buy a Nokia Series 40 again. If you want to stay with Nokia. ;)
