Tile Studio

Is there anyone out there who could give me a few pointers regarding the use of "Tile Studio".

My main problem at the moment (having only just started using it" is ..

If you combine tiles, when exported with "map->export map", only 1 tile index is exported.

This seems logical enough, so it begs the question, how am I supposed to use tile combining if only 1 index is ever exported for each map square ?

just use a freeware piece of software called mappy, give google a hit with that, were a full production house and thats all we ever need

That was my second choice, but Tile Studio seemed better for several reasons ..

I dont someone could post and example code generation script for j2me (for tile studio obviously).
