Well, according to reports on the web, the E71x gets an update to 3rd Edition FP2. If that holds true, it's much more than just a special version for the american market.

Symbian-Guru just reported that AT&T will start selling the E71x as of next week (see http://www.symbian-guru.com/welcome/2009/03/nokia-e71x-finally-hitting-att-priced-nice.html).
