There must be wrong with ur process.
It seams that certificate is created after the sis file, Carbide.ui doesn't act like this.
Carbide.ui always makes keypair or collects a keypair...

Try following
before creating the certificate its good to set ur computer's time just same as your phone's time (almost same), then u can install application right after creating it.

No Steven, there is no need for SDK to use Carbide.ui
And If the Carbide.ui successfully created the theme.sis file with the key pairs u mentioned.
Then the problem could be in the unsynched...

but if you are only concerned with the themes, and not with the Core Development

you must try Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition 3.1 for Symbian...

I have "Carbide.ui S60 Theme Edition 3.1" and working fine now.
I also faced image format problem. but that is not actually a problem.
And there is really a need to use an (Vector/Bitmap) graphics...
