I too have the exact same issue with my N950. The dead pixel areas started showing up last week and just keep on growing, all on their own. This has never occurred before and I take extremely good...
Well, there is nothing running in the background as far as I know. I typically close all the running applications. Anyway, I just realized that it's beta software. So can't complain too much.
I have set the Internet Connection to 'No' in the Settings but I still keep getting this dialog asking me whether I want to connect to Internet. It's really annoying. Is there any way to turn it off...
I was able to download the Ovi maps over WiFi but they are not updated (for Bangalore, India), certainly not as good as Google maps. But they'll do.
My handset does not contain anything in the folder cities/MapLoader/. It's empty. I'll try to download the maps catalog over wifi and see if it works.
Thanks!! It would be great if Ovi Suite could be made compatible with N950. As far as I know, even N9 is not compatible.

I am mostly interested in maps/GPS/navigation as that is my primary interest. I want to store maps on the phone itself for offline use and Ovi Suite seems to be the only method to do...
I checked the phone thoroughly and there is no Ovi Suite etc on it. It does have SDK installers though. How can I request Nokia to make this phone compatible with Ovi Suite?
i just received my N950 dev kit and wanted to load maps etc to it. I installed Ovi suite for Windows but that does not seem to be compatible with this phone. Any idea how can I load...
