Hai symbian buddies
I m a newbie to symbian
i have installed activeperl, java1.5 with netbeans ide and Visual c++ in my pc. Anyone pl send me the link to download an s60 sdk that is compatible with visual c++ 6.0
And is it possible to develop new projects ly with vc++ without an ide like carbide or code warrior??

First of all decide your platform to work with. Means are you targetting 2nd edition phones or 3rd edition phones.
Because as far as VC++ 6.0 IDE is concerned you can not work for 3rd edition target.

Anyways you can download wins SDK for 2nd edition development from following link:
S60 Platform SDKs for Symbian OS, for C++
Look for 8th, 12th etc... entries from download section for WINS flavour of SDKs in the above link.
Also read release notes for corresponding SDKs.

Note that only older S60 SDKs are VS6 compatible (for newer things like S60 3rd Edition you need VS 2003 and Carbide.vs + the S60 3rd Ed. SDK; VS 2005 will not work).

Thanks to all of u.. i downloaded wins version cos i feel it difficult to work with IDEs. I tried carbide ide, though it got installed properly the IDE couldn recognise that an s60 sdk is installed in the pc.
