Hi,
just a question - are you using "self-signed" for market-releases? Or you pass Symbian-Signed even if you don't use capabilities in your app??
What is used widely?
Thanks for replies

I quite often try getting things done with self-signing, and only symbian sign if it is required by the functionality or by the customer. Anyway, most of my apps have required autostarting thus they have required symbian signing.

If you want to sell your app through channels like Nokia Software Market, Handango, operator portals, etc., they mostly require Symbian Signed.
Hi,
thanks for replies - I've never tried to sell my application on my own. I want to try sell one over Handango and similar portals, but I didn't check it yet - so all those portals needs to be Symbian Signed? Huh O.K., I understand it - but that's not so good for me, as I did it in my free time and I need to pay 500USD for publisher id and testing means that if one download will costs 5USD - then minimum is 100 downloads is to get my money back

I would say that Nokia-portals require Symbian signing, SOME operator might also require (none which I have worked have required it sofar), and Handango is not requiring symbian signing.
anybody can correct me if they feel that this information is incorrect, its only based on my own observations, and should propably be treated as an opinion.
