Console Application Deployment

Hi everyone, the more I read about signing, certification and security, the more I get confused. I am trying to develop a simple IrDA client console application with intentions to create a GUI for it once the fundamentals have been tried and tested. Do I need a UID for such an application, what modifications do I need to make to my .mmp file etc.

I thought the development side would be the hard part, I never expected to be setback by the deployment process :-(. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Yes you have to get UID's for all DLLs and EXEs you use in your Application.

Right I see, ok thanks. I'm still confused, I mean what is there to stop me from using the same UID for all my applications?

I was wondering in advance, am I going to have any issues with Infra Red capabilities or does this not fall under the restricted category?

I think you will only need LocalServices capability, which is a user-grantable one.

Thanks for the info, because if I need to go down the signing root I might as well forget the whole thing.
