carbide3.1 prob regardin digital clock

helllo every one..i am usin carbide3.1..now while working on the digital clock..i used bmp files..now in the earlier version v cud mask the first image in order to show the ideal background..now am not being able to do that..when i use the inbuilt mask editor the mask created for 1 no gets applied to all others ..imagine mask of 1 gettin applied to 6..is there a way to mask the base image( not the hard mask i.e. the second image) so tht the idle background can b seen...plz help me out..
