S60 3rd Edition FP1 Emulator exit during registration

I'm new to S60 SDK. I had tried to install the SDK several times(since months ago until just now) but everytime it exited unexpectedly during Wizard registration stage. I had got the reg key now but have no way for me to key in.

My Environment:
- Win2003 Server Standard Edition (No antivirus/firewall)
- JRE v1.6.0
- ActivePerl v5.6.1 build 638

Is there a log file or something for me to troubleshoot? Or is there any method to cleanup the installation (other than uninstall) to start from fresh again?

Hope some kind soul can enlighten me. I got my N95 now and eager to try writing my first Symbian program!

First of all please let us know, are you trying with Java or a Symbian C++ SDK. Since you have installed Active perl, I guess you are trying with Symbian C++ SDK but you posted your thread in the Mobile Java section of Discussion Boards. Let us know - So that moderators could move this thread to the correct section if necessary and could suggest you a solution.

You dont give any error codes, so I can only guess that the problem is similar to the one described to anither thread

Another possibility is you have RealTek High definition Audio Drivers loaded or RealReak Audio hardware. Uninstall the drivers. Crashes MMFAUDIO.exe with code (-5)

To create a debug file, edit C:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\Epoc32\Data\epoc.ini
Set the following "LogToFile 1" from 0.
When the emulator stops there will be a debug dump file epocwind.out in the TEMP directory
and you can see what went wrong.
The registration fails because its past 14 days, but the problem is why does the emulator. fail.
Its quite NOT likely to be a registration problem, but an emulator problem.

The problem is: I don't see any error msg :( But I followed [jimgilmour1] guide to create debug file "epocwind.out". Also I m using Conexant Audio on Compaq V3119AU

I got C:/D: partition on NTFS both have more than 8GB free spaces.

Hi,
I got same problem. It worked OK a month ago, but now I get back to S60 and have emulator quit several secs after startup. Several last lines of epocwind are the same (about fonts) and then fault happens. I know next lines should be:

FontProvider: Category=1, TextPane Height=21; mapped request=18; typeface=Series 60 Sans, actual range=21(a,d,exa,exd=13 5 4 -1)
FontProvider: Category=5, TextPane Height=16; mapped request=14; typeface=Series 60 ZDigi, actual range=14(a,d,exa,exd=11 3 0 0)

because I compared it with my friend and everything works OK for him. I even copied epoc32 folder from him but it didnt help. These lines suggest some font problems but I dont have sufficient knowledge to investigate it further. Any ideas?
