MMAPI, canvas & background

Hi everyone,
I'm playing a video on my Nokia Symbian 8. This video is placed on a canvas and plays as expected but when playing it seems that my canvas is not painted : the video is playing on a black background.
Also it seems that i can use the VideoControl setDisplayLocation method fine but the VideoControl setDisplaySize method has no effect.
Does anybody has any idea if :
- it is possible do draw something on the canvas when a video is played on the same canvas ?
- it is possible to resize a big video to a smaller one using setDisplaySize on a VideoControl applied on a canvas ?
