Power Save mode problem

Hello,
I work in a company which develops WLAN Access Points.
We connected a Nokia N91 to our AP and everything went out OK until the N91 entered Power Save mode. After entering PS mode the phone rapidly connected and disconnected from our AP for a long period of time, until disconnecting completely.
I scanned the web a bit and found out that other users encountered this problem but I could not find a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon.
I would appreciate it very much if someone could suggest a good explanation.

Welcome to Forum Nokia, Avishay.

you can try updating your phone firmware by using Nokia Software Updater.It might be an specific issue of the firmware you have currently.

What's the firmware of the N91 you're using? (type *#0000# in standby screen to find out the version)

Alternatively, you can disable Power Save in WLAN settings to see if the connection becomes stable when testing your WLAN AP

The N91 firmware version we are using is 2.10.013.

The first thing I did was to disable the PS mode and check how the phone reacts. There were no connectivity problems at all when the PS mode was turned off and I was able to surf and to ping the phone through our AP.
I used a sniffer to check the traffic in the air and I saw that the N91 connects to the AP, performs a transition to PS mode, and after a period of 20 beacons sends "deauth" packet for no appearant reason. The process is iterated several times until the N91 halts.

We have various other NICs in our lab (Proxim, AirLink, Linksys, NetGear, Intel and so on) which have no connectivity problems with our AP (including PS mode) so I'm not sure if the problem lies in my court.

I scanned the web a bit and found out that other users encountered problems with the N91\N95 which were solved after turning PS mode off, but I could not find a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon (is it related to the firmware, hardware, maybe it's not an N91 problem at all).

you can try updating your phone's firmware then.

As far as i know, 2.20.008 is the latest version for N91 (4GB version).
