Nokia 6131 NFC SDK can't be installed on Vista

There will be no Mac-compatible SDK releases for the current SDKs. My recommendation for you is to use Parallels (or similar software).

The installer gets stuck on installing the uninstall and even after manually getting everything extracted the emulator wont start

Does anybody have any tips on how to get the 6131 NFC SDK working under Vista (Ultimate)????????

I do not think that Vista existed (or was relevant) at the time this SDK was released so you will have to put your Windows knowledge at test to make this software install on your machine.

Based on my experience with the S60 SDKs this should not be too dificult though. See this blog posts for some clues: S60 SDK and tools on Windows Vista - a success story

Hi,

The solution to install the Nokia 6131 NFC SDK in Windows Vista is the following:
1. Start the Program Compatibility Wizard by entering the following line in Start -> Start Search
%systemroot%\System32\mshta.exe res://acprgwiz.dll/compatmode.hta
2. Select the SDK's setup.exe
3. Select install as in Windows XP SP2
3. Do no select any of the options for graphic issues
4. Run as administrator can only be selected if you are not an administrator but it can be convenient to select it.
5. Select the options to always run this in previously selected options.

I used Windows Vista Ultimate and the SDK runs very nicely now.
