relieable cellid info

hey,

i've run into the problem that in certain times despite perfect reception and valid sim card i cannot access the cellid information with python. i use the bergers elocation which provides either the standard cellId tuple or extended information. both of them fail in certain phases, he has had that issue before. when i try in such phases to retrieve the information lets say with the Nokia Beta "Device Status" Application it totally works, it seems to take a little to retrieve it, but it manages to.

I am sure that some of you ran into that issue before. Is that something that is a problem of python psy60? do i need to switch to symbian C++?

i even ran the call 100x times in a row without luck. strange thing is that a minute later it might work again perfectly.

You just have to live with it, it's a symbian bug.

Perhaps you could (in a separate thread) save cellid into some global variable once in a second or so, if location.gsm_location() returns something reasonable? (I do so.)

My suggestion would be to use a 2nd edition device instead as there is no such problem in 2nd edition phones...
