send data to phone from internet, ideas?

Hello devs

I need to send data to the phone from the internet(a webpage) over GPRS, however the ip of the phone is hidden behind a proxy on the network so it has a private ip so I cant send directly to the phone. The scenario is this:

1. A user regs himself on the webpage
2. The webpage sends a program to the phone(big program), so sms is not a posibility.

A program will be running on the phone to accept the data.

Any ideas please?

One work around would be the data to be sent to a central server and have the program on the mobile phone check reguarly the central server for data..

What _you_ come up with?

2. A generated HTTP link is given to the user (in form of download.yourservice.com/xyz123)

3. User is instructed to type this address to his mobile phone browser

4. SIS files are downloaded and installed automatically

Thanks for the responses.

Yeah this is basicly what I need, Ill have the webapplication send an sms with a link and have my application running on the phone parse the sms and download the data from the link provided.
